The best time of year to get snow at low levels is during August and early September.

Now comes the time to become in touch with your surroundings as you skin into the mountains. Keep in mind we have only walked from Queenstown center 20 minutes ago. We are very excited to see the snow line so low and anxious to see what we might find.

Summit of Bowen Peak Queenstown NZ! Happy to all make it and it only took 1.5 hours with the help of the initial bump from the gondola. Decided not to take photos on the ride down, just rode in the moment. It was so good we walked back up to do another.
